Keep Moving with the 5K-ish Glow Run

The 5K-ish Glow Run presented by Tryon Investments kicks off North Liberty’s Beat the Bitter festivities on Saturday, Jan. 28.

The fun run will unveil the North Liberty Lights 2023 exhibition — a free illuminated winter display around Liberty Centre Pond’s walking trail for the month of February.

Participants who sign up to run, jog or walk the 5K-ish Glow Run will be the first to see the light display and financially support future years of North Liberty Lights and other Beat the Bitter programs with their registration fee.

Both a 6 p.m. running and a 7 p.m. jogging and walking start times are available to accommodate all skill levels. All ages and strollers are welcome during both time slots, but organizers ask participants to sign up for the pace they plan on moving to avoid bottlenecks on the trail.

Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for minors at beatthebitter.com and includes:

  • A glow-in-the-dark participation medal
  • Silent Disco headphones. Wireless headsets will be offered at check-in, allowing participants to seamlessly switch between the three different channels of music
  • Photo opportunities among North Liberty Lights
  • A post-race gathering at Tin Roost. Their patio, heated igloos and bonfires will be open for 5K-ish Glow Run participants and guests to enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate and take photos with large GLOW RUN letters

Capacity is limited and registration will be only be available night-of at an increased price if space allows.
