Let’s be honest, no one likes sand between their toes. Trade sand for snow and signup for J&A Tap’s snow volleyball tournament! The MadHatter tournament will take place at J&A Tap on Thursday, Feb. 1, and is open to all skill levels (must be over 18). Cost is only $10/player. Registration will become available in December.
Players should register online in advance and arrive by 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, to draw first round teams. The tournament is expected to run from approximately 6 – 9 p.m., depending on the number of players and weather.
What is a MadHatter tournament? It is an awesome way to meet new people. Players sign up as individuals, rather than teams. At the event, each player will draw poker chips at numerous points throughout the evening to determine their coed team of 6 players for each match. At the end of each game the individual point difference from each game is recorded. The number of matches played will depend on the number of participants. Game length will be determined based on “freeze factor”, but expect at least 3 rounds for one game. Prizes will be awarded to the player(s) with the highest and lowest point differential, and the player(s) with the point differential closest to zero.
Beat the Bitter is all about getting out and meeting new people in the community and if you get the “putting together a team” headache, this is the activity for you! Questions? Contact J&A Tap at 319-626-3033.
