Learn to Curl
February 2 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This is the perfect opportunity for those who have never tried the sport of curling! Learn to curl from the Cedar Rapids Curling Club on the outdoor ice rink in Penn Meadows Park during Fire & Ice Friday on February 2, 2018. There is no pre-registration for this event; instructors will try to get through as many people as possible.
What to Expect
When you arrive you will asked to sign a waiver, then you will be led through stretches, safety guidelines, and provided with introductory information about the game. Following this you’ll receive hands-on instruction on sweeping and stone delivery (throwing).
What to Bring
Cedar Rapids Curling will provide all the necessary curling equipment, but you will be on the outdoor rink in Penn Meadows Park so dress in warm, loose fitting clothing and wear a pair of athletic shoes (no skates needed). Don’t forget to bring a sense of humor too!
